Our School Mission
We offer classes from Preschool up to the 8th grade and prepare students for State exams (Greek Regents). The classes take place on Friday from 4:15 PM to 6:15PM for the Middle School, and on Saturday from 10:00AM to 1:00PM for Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Elementary School.
At the Hellenic School “Stephen & Areti Cherpelis” of the Saint Nicholas community in Flushing, which was founded in 1957, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and dynamic learning environment where students embrace the rich cultural heritage of Greece while cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and academic excellence. Our mission is to inspire a passion for lifelong learning and global citizenship, empowering our students to become ethical, thoughtful leaders who respect diversity, engage with the world around them, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Through a balanced curriculum of academic rigor, language mastery, and cultural enrichment, we aim to cultivate well-rounded individuals who honor their traditions while shaping a brighter future.
Our teachers, all educationally trained, impart their knowledge with love and dedication. Our classes are small, and the lessons designed by our educators are always tailored to the level and needs of their students.
The principal of the school Stella Vasileiadou
I am thrilled to welcome you to our school. With a deep commitment to the values of education, community, and cultural heritage, my goal is to bring a wealth of experience and a strong passion for nurturing students’ academic and personal growth. Drawing inspiration from Greece’s rich history, traditions, and language, I am dedicated to creating an environment where every student thrives—both intellectually and socially. Under my guidance, we look forward to continuing our school’s legacy of excellence, fostering a love for learning, and celebrating the timeless values of Greek culture.
I would be pleased to invite you to visit our school for the first time and get to know our facilities, teaching staff, and the curriculum we offer to our students.
Your visit will give you the opportunity to learn about how we incorporate the Greek language, culture, and values into our teaching and to see how we support the development of your children in a friendly and creative environment.
Our visits are open to all families who are interested in enrolling their children for the upcoming school year. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to:
- Meet with the teaching staff and school principal.
- Tour the classrooms and other school facilities.
- Receive information about our curriculum, activities, and the values we promote at our school.
- Ask any questions regarding the enrollment process for your children.
We look forward to meeting you in person and discussing the educational journey your children will follow at our school. Please email us at svasileiadou@stnicholashellenicschool.org .
